Grand Haven Salvation Army

salvation_army copy

Welcome to The Salvation Army of Grand Haven, where our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds. What visitors usually notice first are the social service programs but there is so much more.

We also have weekly chapel services and other programs that meet a wide range of needs. If you’d like to develop authentic and enduring relationships with others, then you’ll be glad to know that we have small groups that meet at various times throughout the week.

Together, we’re striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible—a church with relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, authentic prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we’d like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and enhance the community. Changing the world by helping one life at a time. So whether you’re a spiritual seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about God, or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at The Salvation Army.

You’ll find that this is a place where you really matter—because you matter to God.

The Salvation Army is composed of persons who are united by the love of God and who care about others. The word “salvation” speaks of the salvation offered through Christ but also the renewal of the whole person. The word "army" indicates that the organization is a fighting force, constantly at war with the power of sin, injustice and poverty. Battles are fought through an integrated ministry that gives attention to both body and spirit. It is a total ministry for the total person.

The Salvation Army cooperates with churches of all denominations to meet the needs of the community. Those in need and those estranged from their own religious affiliations are often attracted to The Salvation Army. They are encouraged to return to active memberships in their own churches or to join the ranks of The Salvation Army at the local Salvation Army community center. Young people often are attracted through local music groups, youth camps, and recreational centers

Quote Of The Day

Peter Drucker said, “The Salvation Army is by far the most effective organization in the U.S. No one even comes close to it with respect to clarity of mission, ability to innovate, measurable results, dedication, and putting money to maximum use.”
